EXERCISE- 2: 90 DEGREE ANGLE ELBOW PIPE


  1. Go to “Start” select “Mechanical Design” and then ”Part Design”
  2. Select YZ Plane for sketch and draw a shape on below:
  3. Exit workbench and select ZX Plane. On this plane create a 35 diameter circle 50mm away from origin of Y axis after exit workbench.
  4. Create a pipe shape by using “Rib Definition” tool. Select “Shell Definition” and click top and bottom side of pipe to create slot inside of the pipe with 5mm thickness.
  5. To create a head of this pipe, draw a circle with 50 mm dia. And click concentricity to make them concetric.
  6. Click to Project 3D Elements and select element below:

  7. Do this commands for other side of pipe and exit workbench. If we don’t select “Project 3D Elements” tool for inner circle the head will be closed the piper completely.
  8. Now we are going to create a head by using “Pad Definition” tool,  set the L: 5 mm on reverse direction. Perform the same options for the other side of the pipe.
  9. To create little holes around the pipe head, click to front face of pipe head and then click sketch, draw concentric circle ( d=41mm).
  10. Select “Hole” tool and position the sketch on defined circle which has 41 mm diameter and Perform these option below:
  11. To multiply the created holes, click to hole and then  “Circular Pattern” select complete crown on parameters make instances “8” . Click to reference element and then head surface, the circles must be orange colour and press “OK”. Apply same process on the another head.
